A visionary who began his journey as a humble weaver, Kanchi K Ethirajulu transitioned into a designer in 1920. He later managed multiple weaving looms, significantly contributing to the growth of the family business. Passing on his expertise, Kanchi K Ethirajulu mentored his son, KKE Venkatachalam. In the 1940s, KKE Venkatachalam introduced a unique piping technique that enabled the incorporation of basic patterns into saris. He also brought mechanical jacquard and other innovations to handloom weaving, strengthening our presence in the textile industry. K.V. Krishnamoorthy later revolutionized handloom designs and expanded the craft across several villages surrounding Arani. He set new benchmarks for silk sarees from Arani, which was once known only for its simple designs. Our journey began as VKM Silk Creations, founded by Mr. K.V. Krishnamoorthy and successfully led by his son K.K. Arunn , whose leadership and vision continue to guide us.
